Penerapan Metode Certainty Factor Dalam Menentukan Penyakit Diabetes Berbasis Web

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by high blood sugar levels due to impaired insulin production or utilization, potentially leading to serious complications such as heart disease, nerve damage, kidney failure, and vision impairment. Early diagnosis is crucial to prevent these complications, but conventional methods that require a series of examinations and adequate laboratory equipment often hinder rapid and accurate diagnosis, especially in healthcare facilities with limited resources. Therefore, this study proposes the development of a web-based diabetes disease detection information system using the Certainty Factor method. This method was chosen because of its ability to handle uncertainty in symptom data and expert knowledge. The system, designed to integrate patient data in a structured manner and provide probabilistic analysis, is expected to support medical personnel in faster and more accurate decision-making. Thus, this system is expected to improve the quality of healthcare services at the Santi Meliala Inpatient Primary Clinic through early detection and more efficient diabetes management, ultimately contributing to improved patient health outcomes
