Metode Buffer Stock Dalam Perancangan Sistem Informasi Persediaan Bahan Baku (Studi Kasus PT. Medan Tropical Canning & Frozen Industries)

Abstract

PT. Medan Tropical Canning & Frozen Industries is a manufacturing company engaged in seafood processing, particularly tuna, which is highly dependent on the availability of its main raw materials. In practice, the company still faces various obstacles in stock management, such as an error-prone manual recording system, information delays, and the lack of clear standards for determining the amount of reserve stock. This condition often leads to inventory instability, both shortages of materials that hamper production and excess stock that increases storage costs and the risk of material damage. This study aims to design a raw material stock management information system using the Buffer Stock method. This method was chosen because it is able to maintain stock reserves to anticipate fluctuations in demand and delays in supply from vendors. The system is designed web-based with the PHP programming language and MySQL database, so it can monitor inventory in real time, provide early warnings, and support faster and more accurate decision-making. The results of this study provide a real contribution in helping the company maintain smooth production while increasing competitiveness in the seafood processing industry
