Asset management in government agencies requires an efficient, transparent, and structured system to support accountability and informed decision-making. The North Sumatra Provincial Civil Service Agency still faces various obstacles such as recording errors, delays in data updates, and a lack of information integration between departments. This study aims to develop a web-based information system focused on internal asset management by integrating the Knuth-Morris-Pratt (KMP) algorithm to accelerate the process of searching for asset data based on keywords. The KMP algorithm was chosen because of its high efficiency in string matching, especially for large-scale data. Test results show that the application of the KMP algorithm can increase search speed by up to 52% compared to conventional search methods on a dataset of 150 asset data, with an average search time decreasing from 1.28 seconds to 0.61 seconds. The system was developed using the Scrum method, which provides flexibility and adaptability to changing user needs through structured sprints and periodic evaluations. The results of this study indicate that the combination of the Scrum method and the KMP algorithm can produce an efficient, accurate, and transparent system to support asset management within the North Sumatra Provincial Civil Service Agency
